My name is Ernest E. Watts
and I’m a writer of fantasy novels. Although I’m a dabbler in fantasy, Sci-Fi, Dystopia and LitRPG most of my books tend to be a tad darker and gruesome than my friends and family are entirely comfortable with, hence the lack of any photos…
Ernest Books
While in public, I make a half-decent showing of a semi-responsible adult (for my wife’s sake), I do tend to spend most of my down-time sequestered in my little man cave, feverishly putting strange worlds to paper in the hopes that someday, some avid reader out there might enjoy them as much as I do. If that reader might be you, go take a look them at Ernest Books.
Ernest Reviews
When I’m not writing new novels, I’m writing about novels. From high-epics to damp dark sci-fi and LitRPG, there are absolute gems out there that deserve more attention and I aim to review every single one of them. Go over to my Ernest Reviews page for what I consider insanely good stories that should be read by every man, woman and child (over the age of 18).
Ernest Notes
When I’m not writing novels or writing about them, I’m taking notes on the plot theory and writing tools that are used to make them, trying to figure out what makes the well-crafted stories of writers much more experienced than I, tick. From Brandon Sanderson to Neil Gaiman to Patrick Rothfuss and many many more, all my notes can be found here: Ernest Notes page.
I do not lie when I say I have I’ve spent hundreds of hours boiling creative writing courses, writing tools and master classes down to these blogged up notes. I hope they’ll be of as much use to you as they have been to me!
Ernest Works
Among the most recent (and first) of the many sandboxes I’m planning to play around in, LitRPG is often the most undervalued and overlooked. While some would say it’s a very specific genre with a very specific audience (ahum, men, men, men), I think there’s an underwater iceberg of hidden potential there, that I intend to take full advantage of in my new series The Legacy Chronicles, contrary advice be damned.
